I just noticed this so I figured I'd nominate us. Of course one they find out what we do here who knows if we'll still be in consideration (Hopes the judging panel has a lot of girls on it [img]tongue.gif[/img] ). Here's to hoping.

and it didnt really say what the boards had to be about.....maybe they will just overlook it?

terrorized due to the information/link posted
on the BOTM board. (links and all)

i have deleted the closed nomination thread
created by Reikou Hitakana. i have also removed
all traces of your posts on BOTM (as anyone
can come to your board via your profile).

as a side note, i have visited this board prior
to the BOTM nominations and find it a wonderful
board. i also think it is deserved of being
nominated.

the BOTM cabinet (those that vote) are comprised
of honest, good people and i can also assure you
that they will be quite fair of your nomination
regardless of the P-word. [img]smile.gif[/img]

if no one minds... i would like to continue this
in a more private manner. so if a mod would PM
me, that would be great. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I'm sorry to be a downer, and I agree that this board is (in a better world) deserving of a fair chance at being nominated for board of the month.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that this IS a better world, considering how flatly and absolutely and without recourse Ob-session.net got shut down by their previous host.

And I find it far easier to live with the idea that "we unfairly missed a chance at being nominated for board of the month" than to live with the idea that "the entire website got shut down because we got noticed by someone who would never have been interested in the website thanks to the board of the month nomination".

Because, when it comes right down to it, we can go on being ourselves whether or not we're nominated for the board of the month. But we can't go on being ourselves if we attract publicity that didn't find us through channels that tend to pre-select for open-mindedness and that publicity brings seriously bad mojo down on Crisis' head... I just don't want to risk that happening.

I'm sorry to everyone involved, for feeling like I have to be so paranoid. But the memory of what happened to poor Mayu, and the fact that she lost a webhost and a significant chunk of money and her site is still recovering from it, is still incredibly fresh in my mind... and I really, really don't want to see it happen again...

the BOTM honorable mention graphic posted is
based on the fact that i completely understand
your reasonings behind the removal of the nomination,
and despite this, i feel this board stood a good
shot at BOTM.

the image/graphic can be used at the mods discretion,
if they choose, to add to the board. this image
is held only by my image server and not directly
linked to any outside source.

i hope you will accept it on behalf of me,
tastingood and the BOTM cabinet.

Don't feel sorry Risu-chan, because your feelings were completley justified.

There was a chance that someone could stumble upon the message board and then onto the S-C.net site, not knowing what they were getting into, and then cause alot of problems for everyone.

I would rather that someone come to the message board through S-C.net, because then they would feel the same as the rest of us about yaoi/shounen-ai/manga.

And I just want to send a Thank You and a great big hug to Risu-chan for being such a fantastic member of the board. You're not only a big help to me and everyone else (like not charging $60 an hour for tech support [img]wink.gif[/img] ), but also a valuable friend. Cheers! [img]graemlins/beer.gif[/img]
